Marvel at miniatures and then feel like one yourself: From the mini wonderland to the container giants.
The heat 11 GmbH & Co. KG undertakes a company outing once a year with all employees. Two aspects are always particularly important for the planning of the stay: The destination of the excursion should in any case offer something fascinating to visit. And a nice ambience for the overnight stay should also be available in the best case.
After the last team tours to the Meyer shipyard for large passenger ships in Papenburg, to Lufthansa Technik in Hamburg and to the Airbus plant in Finkenwerder, it was almost difficult to surpass these goals in terms of impressions once again. This year, however, there were even two points on the agenda that “you must have done” when going to Hamburg: Visiting the Miniatur Wunderland and cruising through the port with a barge.
On Friday, 11 October 2019, the employees set off in several vehicles from Bielefeld and the surrounding area in order to get together again at their destination for a joint lunch in the restaurant “Bräuhaus” at the Landungsbrücken. The next stop after a short visit to the “Plaza” of the Elbphilharmonie was the Miniatur Wunderland. There all participants could marvel at Germany, America, Scandinavia, Switzerland, an international airport and Italy including Venice in the scale of 1:87.
A few facts about the Miniatur Wunderland:
On a model area of 1,490 sqm, 1,040 trains move on 15.5 km of tracks, on which even a train with a length of 14.5 meters can fit. The small world is controlled by a total of 50 computers and was expanded in just under 760,000 working hours after (!) the opening.
After the tour, all went aboard of a barge for a dinner together, with which the crew cruised through the port of Hamburg. Now the huge container ships could be marvelled again but in the normal scale of 1:1. Whereby these were so impressive in their size that each participant could have felt almost like a small miniature figure …
And for those who are full and happy but still not tired after a great day, Hamburg has a lot to offer until late at night …
